Hence I Love Rhyme

Sometimes I wonder, sweetest love, if you
Were just a dream on a long winter night,
A dream of wine that fills the drunken eye.

Sometimes I wonder, sweetest love, if I
Should drink this ruby wine, or rather weep;
Each tear a gem with your face engraved,
A rosary to memorize your name…

There are so many ways to call you back-
Yes, even if you were just a dream.

  1. Rumi had it going on! Did you know allegedly there is no explicit punishment outlined for drinking. I mean its wrong and sinful and wrong? BUT its not adultery. Or murder. Or stealing. So, I was thinking the next time we meet you should bring some wine. You can rhyme and I can drown myself in your words. and wine.
